Seylan Bank PLC said its total assets passed Rs. 1 trillion in September 2026, making it the fourth private sector bank in Sri Lanka to reach that level.

Director and Chief Executive Officer Ramesh Jayasekara said the achievement reflected the dedication of the bank’s employees and their focus on delivering value to customers.

The bank also said it was named Sri Lanka’s Best Bank for Customer Experience and Sri Lanka’s Best Bank for SMEs at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026. It retained the customer experience title for the second consecutive year, after first receiving it in 2025.

Total assets are the sum of everything a bank owns, mainly loans and investments, and are one common measure of a bank’s size. For customers and businesses, a larger balance sheet shows the scale of the bank’s lending and deposit base.

The figures were announced by the bank in a statement issued on Wednesday.
