The US Navy ship USS Tulsa (LCS 16), a littoral combat ship, arrived at the Port of Colombo on Wednesday, 7 October, on its second visit in two years.

The ship last called at Colombo in August 2025. It will refuel and resupply before continuing its mission in the Indo-Pacific region.

“Every American ship that visits Sri Lanka is an opportunity to deepen the friendship between our countries and the bonds between our sailors,” said US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Eric Meyer.

The US Embassy said the visit builds on cooperation between the two navies, including ship visits, professional exchanges, training and exercises such as Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT).
