Seven-year-old Sri Lankan racing driver Avish Silva finished second in Round 4 of the IAME Bambino Cup UAE, becoming the first Sri Lankan to reach the podium in the international karting championship, according to the organisers.
He raced against 13 young drivers from different countries, including several from Europe.
Avish finished third in Time Trial 1 and Time Trial 2, then won Time Trial 3, before taking second place in the final race.
The IAME Bambino Cup is a karting championship for children aged between five and eight.
