The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to provide official digital communication facilities to 350 courts across Sri Lanka as part of the e-Court digitisation programme.
The proposal was submitted by the Minister of Justice and National Integration. It follows a framework the Cabinet approved on 15 December 2025 to set up a digital system for the country’s courts.
Under the programme, digital case file management systems are being developed for Magistrate’s Courts, District Courts and High Courts.
The facilities are expected to support the move to electronic case management and make court administration more efficient, which could matter to people waiting on case files and hearings.
The Cabinet decision did not give a date for completion.
