Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, O. L. Ameer Ajwad, visited Anojan Sivarasa at Dammam Central Prison on 8 October to check on his well-being.
Ajwad said Sivarasa was in good health and that prison authorities were attending to his welfare. He also met the prison’s Director and its medical doctor, and thanked them for arranging the visit and for the care given to Sivarasa.
The Ambassador listened to Sivarasa’s needs and concerns and told him the Embassy would provide all possible consular and legal assistance, under the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism. He gave Sivarasa his contact details so they could stay in direct touch.
The Embassy is also assisting Sivarasa with his appeal before the Saudi Supreme Court.
