Showers or thundershowers are expected in most parts of Sri Lanka after 1.00 p.m. on Sunday, with fairly heavy falls above 75 mm at some places.
The heaviest rain is likely in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and North-Western provinces, and in the Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura and Mannar districts.
The public is asked to take precautions against temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Misty conditions are also expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces in the early hours of the morning.
