Sri Lankan racing driver Yevan David, 19, has signed with Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) for the 2027 FIA Formula 3 Championship, his second season in the series.
David finished 18th in the 2026 Drivers’ Championship with 35 points. His best result was second place in the Sprint Race at Silverstone.
In 2025 he finished second overall in the Euroformula Open Championship, with six wins and 14 podium finishes.
VAR Team Principal Brad Joyce welcomed the signing, pointing to David’s potential and his performance at Silverstone. Joyce said the team hopes to build on David’s experience and achieve stronger results in 2027.
David described the move as the right step in his racing career.
