New motorcycles can be registered at five district secretariats from 19 October, Commissioner General of Motor Traffic Thushara Indunil Fernando has announced.
The service will be offered at the district secretariats in Jaffna, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura and Hambantota.
The aim is to let buyers register new motorcycles at district-level offices instead of relying only on existing registration channels.
The announcement did not say whether further districts will be added. The service begins on Monday, 19 October.
