The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) has issued a Level 2 Amber landslide early warning for the Kolonna Divisional Secretariat division in the Ratnapura District, valid from 4.00pm on Tuesday 13 October until 4.00pm on Wednesday 14 October.
A Level 1 Yellow warning is in force for divisions in nine districts: Badulla, Colombo, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kegalle, Matara, Kandy, Matale, Nuwara Eliya and Ratnapura.
- Badulla: Ella and Passara
- Colombo: Padukka
- Hambantota: Katuwana and Walasmulla
- Kalutara: Bulathsinhala and Palindanuwara
- Kegalle: Mawanella, Ruwanwella, Bulathkohupitiya, Yatiyantota, Kegalle, Aranayake, Dehiowita, Rambukkana and Warakapola
- Matara: Pasgoda, Aturaliya and Mulatiyana
- Kandy: Hataraliyadda and Thumpane
- Matale: Ambanganga Korale, Rattota and Matale
- Nuwara Eliya: Hanguranketha
- Ratnapura: Kuruwita, Ayagama, Eheliyagoda, Weligepola, Ratnapura, Kalawana, Imbulpe and Nivithigala
Authorities have asked residents of the listed areas to stay alert to landslide risks while the current weather continues.
The Amber warning for Kolonna runs until 4.00pm on Wednesday.
