India has handed over a consignment of anti-tuberculosis (TB) medicines worth Rs. 52 million to the Sri Lankan Government, the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka said.

The consignment weighs about three tonnes and contains more than 1.5 million tablets of first-line TB medicines. Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha handed it to Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa at the Ministry of Health in Colombo on Wednesday. Deputy Health Minister Hansaka Wijemuni was also present.

The High Commission said the medicines were supplied at the Sri Lankan Government’s request and sourced with support from India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. They are meant to keep treatment available for TB patients.

In August 2026, India donated 500 litres of Technical Malathion at Sri Lanka’s request to support dengue control.
