Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India, Mahishini Colonne, has invited Indian business leaders, investors and buyers to Sri Lanka Expo 2027, to be held in Colombo from 14 to 17 January 2027.
She spoke on 5 October at a conference on business opportunities in BIMSTEC countries at the India International Centre in New Delhi. The Millennial India International Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MIICCIA) organised it.
Colonne pointed to Sri Lanka’s location and its long-standing economic ties with India. She named trade, investment, ports and logistics, manufacturing, tourism, renewable energy and digital services as areas for closer cooperation.
About 80 representatives of Indian trade and industry attended, along with diplomats from the seven BIMSTEC member states and Indian External Affairs Ministry officials. BIMSTEC Secretary-General Indra Mani Pandey sent a video message urging stronger private-sector links.
The expo is intended to bring together Sri Lankan exporters, global buyers and industry leaders.
