The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) will suspend the water supply to several areas in the Kalutara district for eight hours on Thursday, 8 October.

The cut will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in Kalutara, Wadduwa, Waskaduwa, Moronthuduwa and Pilaminawatte. The Board said the cause is essential maintenance work at the Kehena Water Treatment Plant.

The NWSDB said the work is meant to improve the quality of the water supply service.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to store water in advance and use it sparingly during the interruption. The Board apologised for the inconvenience.

Consumers can call the NWSDB hotline 1939 for more information.
