Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay was discharged from the National Hospital on the recommendation of doctors and taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigations.
Sallay had been in detention and was receiving treatment at the hospital before his discharge.
He remains in the custody of the CID, where investigations are continuing.
