Sri Lanka opening batter Pathum Nissanka has been ruled out of the upcoming one-day international tri-series in Pakistan, with Lahiru Udara likely to replace him.

Nissanka has been recovering from an injury sustained during Sri Lanka’s recent ODI series against England. Udara is expected to join the squad, although an official announcement is awaited.

The loss of Nissanka is a setback for Sri Lanka ahead of the event, which also features Pakistan and England. Each team will play the other two sides twice, and the top two teams will advance to the final.

Sri Lanka Cricket is expected to confirm the replacement officially.
